Elavial smiled at him, finding a bit of courage behind his words. She continued unpacking silently, lighting up a candle with the tip of her finger, a habit she couldn't let go after she aquired her wand. Placing the glass infront of her crossed legs, she straightened her back and took an audible breath, trying to relax, keeping her eyes on Walter and his potion.

Walter pulled up his sleeve and picked up the goblet. Carefully, after watching the potion turn from a smoky brown to a brilliant yellow, scooped it up in the goblet and passed it to Ela.
"I won't leave. I promise. No matter what."

Elavial wanted to make her body believe him, but her hands slightly shook at she grabbed the goblet. She placed it down next to her. "Give me a moment." She muttered, craining her neck and shaking her arms, trying to expulse her nerves. With another breath, she grabbed the goblet and drained it's contents. It was disgusting, but she managed to keep a straight face, closing her eyes, trying to see if she felt any different. Nothing felt out of the ordinary. Elavial looked up at Walter with insecurity. She took advantage of the silence and took the scrying glass in her hands. Concentrate.
She honestly could not tell how long she sat there, staring at her dim reflection in the glass. It couldn't have been too long, she hadn't heard Walter move a muscle. Or maybe he had and she was just too fixated on getting it to work. Hope fading, she was beginning to think it hadn't worked, maybe the lunar cycle had nothing to do with it. Just as the thought crossed her mind, her hands felt extremely hot as if the glass was on a stove. She tried to let go, but her hands seemed to had attached themselves to the glass. She began to see a blurred image on the glass, like a faulty television screen. But the more she ignored the pain on the hands, the clearer the image was getting. Then...she saw her, she saw Hayley. She was so thin, so very, very thin and battered. Elavial whimpered, trying to focus, her hands seering.
Elavial's happiness quickly took the pain out of her mind, she escaped! Elavial just needed to hold onto long enough to get an idea of where she was, to send for help, to look for Hayley! She jumped when she heard a loud bark, so clear in her head as if it was in that room.
"No!" Elavial yelled out, she felt the sting of tears at the corner's of her eyes. The image was blurring out again, she knew it was because her emotions were running high. Among the blurred images she saw a new figure appear, she held the glass closer to her face trying to make out who is was. But she knew, it was him. Maze.
Elavial couldn't take it anymore, the burning of her hands was too strong and the image had faded from view. She threw the glass agaisnt the floor, trying to get it away from her, she looked at her hands expecting to see burns, but they were untouched. She held them against her body, the stinging amplified. Feeling the tears well up and pour down her face, she gave out a loud cry and began sobbing.

"Hey, hey," Walter crouched down beside her, "woah...Ela, you're here. You're okay. It's...."

She wished she hadn't seen it. She wished she hadn't seen ANY of it. It didn't work. What she saw wasn't real.
"I saw her Walt..." She said inbetween rattled sobs. "She's hurt...and so thin..." She didn't know why this had bothered her the most. "He's starving her. She's dying...."

Walter wrapped his arms around Ela. "I probably got the potion wrong. I'm not perfect. It was probably a fluke, just...fears come to life for a moment." He absolutely didn't want to believe what she saw. It was better to think he'd got it wrong. He had messed up potions in the past.

She flinched at his touch, and hoped he was right. "It all seemed so real...the wolf...Maze...." Her breath hitched and she shuddered under his arms. "I saw her..." she repeated, "She escaped but he found her... I couldn't see..." A new wave of sobs attacked. "Oh Hayley...poor Hayley..." She couldn't seem to stop.

"She'll be okay. You know her. She's like...the strongest person ever. She's always alright." He rubbed her back with one hand and felt around his pocket for a handkerchief. Finding it, he handed it to her. "You saw Maze?"

The only noises she was emitting were cries and whimpers, noises indicating she was trying to stop. She coughed into Walter's handkerchief. Her neck felt tense from her clenching her jaw shut.
"He dragged her back. Back to some sort of cell. There was trees, like a forest." She managed to cough out, her lower lip trembling.

Walter's fist clenched unconsciously. It didn't sound fake. He hugged her tighter, then releaed her to pick up the goblet. "a-aquamenti." It filled. "here, Ela..."

With hestation, Elavial took the goblet in her hand but instead of drinking, she just held it in her hands. She felt the stinging ease. "Walter...what if it was real? What if it did work...?"

"Then..." Walter took a deep breath. thinking that over seriously. "Then she'll try again. If he wanted to kill her, he would have already right? So he must want something from her. So he won't kill her. She'll try again. You've known her longer, what do you think?"

Her sobs had turns into silent sniffling, a vast improvement. "She'd...she'd try again." Elavial agreed. She thought of how Maze would now find the flaw in his cell. "It took a month to find that way out. How long will it be until she finds another way? She's already so weak." If only she had any indication of where she was, she could help. "She's so weak...she needs us."

(quick reminder, this is taking place back in late january, so she's only been there about a month)
"She's one of the smartest people I know, and one of the most tenacious. I have to believe she'll figure it out."
