(OOC - This is the place to put your exciting springbreak adventures. If you want to do full RPs, maybe make another thread.)
There were knocks on the door. He grunted and turned in his bed, expecting any moment to hear his father's voice telling him to get his lazy behind out of bed. But instead, it was the bumbly voice of Elisa who called through the woodwork.
"Robert! Are you awake?"
He would be now regardless. "Yes, come in Elisa."
She opened the door and walked in briskly. It was obvious that she was only just stopping herself from running. She had changed ever so slightly since he last saw her this Christmas, had become a little more daring. This confirmed his concerns about leaving her behind at Fowler Manor.
"There's a letter for you," she said, putting it next to his head. "Mother said to bring it to you."
"Right, right. I'm getting up now."
She moved away and turned around, covering her eyes with her hands for good measure. He smiled at the sight of her. All she lacked was the counting and you'd think she was playing hide and seek.
He walked over to the wardrobe and slung on a bathrobe over his pajamas.
"All right, little bouncer. You can look again."
He looked at the envelope. The return adress was in Mons-en-Baroeul. He should have known. Why else would mother be so anxious for him to read it. Smiling, he opened the letter and read:
Quote:
Cher Robert,
Thank you for your letter.
It sads me that things are so bad at your school now. This Maze, I read information about him. He was a horrible person and do horrible things. I mean no bad to your school, Robert, but I am happy I am at Beauxbatons and not at Hogwarts after reading what you say. Please be safe and do not get harmed. I would be saddest if you get harmed.
I will now brighten the mood of my letter to a more happy news. I have been asked to join the Unicorne Blue équippe on my school. I maybe should explain this is a quidditch (is that the good word?) equippe. I am very excited about this. One of the members saw me fly for fun and she asked: would I like to join? So I say oui and voilà pourquoi.
The capitain has come to me and me told that it will be hard work playing and practiciing. She say it is 'requirement' that we practice much.
(I am not sure 'requirement' is the good word. Mon dictionaire say 'necessité' is 'requirement', but I think it is a strange word).
So, comme je dit, I will be practiciing playing flying much. I am a chaseur, but that you I think already believed with your own. I do not think I would be a good batteuse, yes? haha. I am too thin and breakable for that. Also I think papa would not that permit. You never tell me about you flying. Do you fly at your school? I never ask, are in a quidditch equippe?
I hope you and your family are well. bring over my greetings to your little sister. I think she was 'ravissant' (cute? adorable?) in the time we came visit your house. I have still happy memories of that time.
Au revoir, cher Robert. I would be delighting if you wrote back soon.
Toujours la votre,
Olivia
"Olivia says hi," he told Elisa, who was waiting until he was done reading. "She says you are adorable."
Elisa smiled broadly. "Is she coming here again, Robert?'
He shook his head.

Elisa had enjoyed the presence of the De Rochelles greatly, even if it only was two days. Robert had found he and Olivia actually did get along quite well. She was kind and cheerful, if a little shallowheaded. He had been less fond of her little brother Jean-Pierre. He had forgotten he had met him already at King's Cross, at what seemed ages ago, before the mess started. Jean-Pierre had been far too interested in Elisa, offensively so, and Robert didn't like the look of him: virilous little bragger. As he didn't count on father and mother to mind, he had taken matters into his own hands to protect her. Behind Elisa's back, he had dragged the boy to a private spot, not bothering being careful with him, and told him in no uncertain terms that he was to stay away from Elisa.
Jean-Pierre had tried once more, when Robert was out of sight, but the latter had not been sorted into Ravenclaw for nothing. He was two steps ahead of the stupid French fart and had asked his sister every day in passing how the littel boy was doing. She had willingly recounted his every word to him. Furious, Robert had come back at JP. Let us just say Robert came true to his earlier threats and the boy avoided Elisa after that.
There was now a collection of drawings in Robert's bottom drawer depicting Olivia, her two sisters, father and mother. She had given him one of JP, on his own - which was rare. It was the only time he didn't put a drawing in the bottom drawer-museum. It had gotten a lonely hdiing place. Not even in drawn depiction, the kid deserved a place among the stars. He had considered burning it, but was glad he had stepped down from those destructionistic thoughts. It was still her drawing.
~
"Do you think we will go to France once?" Elisa asked as they descended the stairs, Robert now fully dressed.
"Hmm, maybe," Robert said, his head only half with the conversation. He wondered once again if his correspondence with Olivia was bad, considering his sort-of whatever-it-was with Hayley. Him and Olivia had never spoken about their betrothal, for it was very obvious that was the plan without an announcement, except when their parents were close by. None of the letters they had written had touched the subject. That lightened his worry a little. He took Elisa's hand, pulling warmth from them to keep his head in this grey palace he called home, walking onwards to meet what was sure to be an interrogation from mother about the letter's contents.
