Julius checked his watch
He happened to know that Seamus was not in class and was instead spending this period with Madelain at the other side of the castle. Seamus was discreet, but he had asked Forrest to cover for him, who was more loose-lipped.
He also happened to know that Scarlet had a free period at the moment.
Almost time now.
Ah.
A blue thing came flying towards the edge of the forest, where professor Trawbyhide was just explaining how to handle a Vowl, a flightless bird with incredibly sharp claws but whose eggs were a useful ingredient in potions.
The professor looked around just as the blue thing stopped flared and released a single folded paper. He caught it and read quickly. For a few seconds, he stared at the writing, then closed it resolutely.
"Alright class. One of the . I have to go. You," he seemed to look at each of the students in turn, "are going inside the castle and stay there until lunch. Classes continue as normal unless otherwise noted. Class dismissed."
There were curious faces, but the tone of his voice stopped any questions.

He stepped into the tall grass around the gazebo about fifteen minutes later and looked around. Hopefully Scarlet had got the note he'd passed her earlier and would already be here or get here shortly.*
Scarlet checked the corridor was clear before opening the door to the Room of Requirement. She was surprised when she got the note, but in a good way. It wasn't often that Julius would schedule to see her, she always felt like she was the one sending him a note, or asking him to meet her somewhere. Maybe she was just paranoid, but she couldn't help it.
She smiled when she slipped into the room and saw him down by the gazebo. She dropped her bag next to the door and made her way down through the grass to meet him, giving him a quick hug before releasing him and taking a step back, "Hey," She smiled, "Why are you out of Care of Magical Creatures early? I was surprised when I got your message."*
"A Bhutanese Bladetooth escaped from the pen. Trawbs had to help get it back. So class ended early."
He smiled mischievously.*
She saw his smile, "Oh, and I take it you had nothing to do with that whatsoever?" She said, trying to keep a straight face, but failed and ended up laughing.
She smiled and shook her head, "It's good to see you."*
"Well ... Maybe," he admitted shyly, then realised she was probably teasing. "What an accusation," he amended.
"It's good to see you too. So, we have about two hours before the start of afternoon classes ... Are you hungry?"*
She looked at him incredulously, "Wait, you actually did have something to do with the escape?" She smiled, "I'm flattered you'd go to such lengths to see me." She teased him, though secretly she was rather flattered that he did.
Two hours. She couldn't remember the last time they'd spent that much time together. Probably the last time they used the room. "Hmm, I'm a little hungry. Why, did you have something in mind?"*
"No, but I wouldn't want you to skip lunch. Wait, this room has anything you want, right?"
He stepped into the gazebo and looked around, expecting to see food somewhere.*
"Hmm, almost anything. Anything except food. Which is slightly annoying, but we could always pop down to the kitchens to get something, it's less public than the great hall, and the elves know me... " She paused, They know me because they give me raw meat to feed to the Hippogriff I rescued and keep in a secret room on the 6th floor. "I go there for ice cream sometimes in the evening."*
"Ice cream sounds good," he said. "We need to be quick. I don't know when Seamus will be back, and where he goes after. If he sees us ..." She knew.
He prepared to follow her.*
"We should be fine, I'm sure Seamus wouldn't be caught dead down near the Hufflepuff Common Room, let alone in the Kitchens." She made her way back up the hill, picking up her bag and opening the door.
After they'd gone down the first corridor she began to relax a little more, it was basically deserted, most people were in class, and the ones that weren't were most likely either studying in their common rooms or the library.
She stopped in front of the tapestry and looked both ways before gently tickling the pear, and after emitting a small giggle, the tapestry moved aside to reveal a door. Scarlet smiled and she glanced at Julius, before stepping through the door and into the Kitchens.
As soon as she stepped through the doors one of the elves broke away from her station to meet her. "Miss Irisa," She squeaked while bowing, "Tilly has a mixture of meat for Miss Irisa to take with her..." But Tilly's sentence faded off as she saw the small but desperate head shake from Scarlet, and then noticed the boy behind her.
Tilly coughed and bowed to Julius, "Hello young master, what can Tilly get for Master and Miss Irisa?"*
Julius looked at Scarlet. "You come here regularly?"*
Scarlet appeared slightly uncomfortable at this comment, which was nothing compared to how she was actually feeling. "I guess you could say that. It's nice to take a break from it all, every now and then."*
A smile spread acorss his face. "You are the smartest girl in Hogwarts. No one would come look for you here. And if he tried, there's too many elves. You like meat then?"*
A blush crept up her cheeks at the compliment, "Well I figured that they wouldn't want to dirty there hands coming down here, especially with the Hufflepuff common room so close."
She smiled at him, then raised an eyebrow at him and asked jokingly, "By saying that he wouldn't find me because there are too many elves, are you implying that I look like an elf?" She purposely avoided his question.*
"No, you don't look like an elf. But I don't think he would do anything with so many of them around, right?"*
