I call this 1, because if it gets too long we can make a new thread and continue there, rather than having to sift through another 600 pages

"Christopher," Sophie called, running across the grass towards him as she saw him dismount his brooom. "Hey."
It had been a few months now. Still no news. The Duelsports Tournament, which was set to begin the first week of May (giving them an entire month before final exams if it should prove necessary), were starting in one week. The school had come alive around the idea of it. Even the students not participating in the actual events were getting excited to watch. She'd seen one Hufflepuff sporting a button with the Duelsports emblem on it, the colours behind it flashing by at an alarming rate.
"I've been looking all over for you," she smiled. "Probably should have known to look here first though." She glanced around for Annie, to see if she was there today. She didn't seem to be.

Annie and Serenity were sitting in the Great Hall.
"Are you sure you want to do that? I mean, it's a lot of work all in one week."

"It'll be fun. And a good way to blow off steam before we go into the arena." She took a bite from her breadroll and continued with full mouth. "Wff neede do askf Twabbie's bermission. My mum can help with food and stuff if the elves won't."

"Oh," He smiled briefly, "Hey."
She'd been looking for him? His internal worry of whether this was a good or bad sign did not play across his face. "Why were you looking for me?"

"Fair enough." She fiddled with her fork. "Trawbyhide probably won't object. He's cool enough."

Scarlet headed down the fifth floor corridor, slightly flustered from her meeting with Esquire. She was falling behind in Arithmancy, not that she'd ever let on due to her embarrassment.
She was carrying along some extra books he'd given her to help, but due to their size they were currently being more of a hindrance than a help. Groaning in annoyance, she attempted to balance them more effectively.

"I wanted to see if you wanted to get a bite to eat. And then maybe go for a flight around the grounds. But, ah," she glanced at his broom. "Looks like you've already done that part." She laughed a little.

"Sure, just give me a minute." He headed into the changing rooms, putting his broom in the cupboard before changing out of his flight robes. He checked his reflection self-consciously in the window before sighing and heading back outside.
"Shall we?" He gestured towards the castle.

"Just the usual ... don't leave a mess, don't be too loud, and nothing from Magical Cakes & Pastries. So we're inviting the Eagles of course. And Walter and Miri. Anyone else we really want there?"

Sophie had taken the time to enjoy the fresh air while waiting. It wasn't often she'd had a spare moment to herself. "Absolutely." She took his hand automatically and they started heading up towards castle. "I can't believe we start Duelsports in a week. It's crazy." They'd been practicing for it as often as they had time, but still...

"Well, I guess anyone who happens to be in the common room. Unless we're hosting elsewhere?" Annie laughed, "I'll have my mom send the cakes in. No one suspects her yet."

"Yeah, crazy." He was looking forward to it. He'd been practising outside of the group sessions by himself, testing a few new spells, attempting harder material. Similar stuff he did in Esquire's group really. Not that he'd definitely use it in the arena, it was a work in progress.
"Should be good though." He paused, "Do you feel ready for it?"

"I think so, I mean," Sophie shrugged. "My grandmother sent another note telling me participating wasn't ladylike and that I was to withraw if I could, so..." her expression took on a distinctively determined cast, "obviously I started taking practice much more seriously. I've been working on some things in my free period."

She held her hand out for a low five, for the cakes. "Wouldn't know where. The teachers get paranoid when we do things outside of the common rooms. Is Scarlet still dating that Slytherin boy?"
