Annie jumped forward, hand reaching across the circle to grab at Scarlet's armband.

Sophie blocked quickly, and barely in time. So, Scarlet and Caleb were locked in for now, just Hugo and Julius to disarm. She shot a boiling hex back at Julius.

Caleb turned his back to Scarlet, ostensibly so that the two of them could cover each others back. In reality, his motivation was not quite so honourable. It kept him from seeing Annie's move, which meant he couldn't reasonably be expected to act on it unless Scarlet indicated it was happening. He shot bodybind at Christopher, noting with some satisfaction that while they were tuck, their spells weren't.

He sidestepped the hex. Trying to stop Annie from grabbing the armband, he sent a stream of fire to the ground between her and Annie.

Scarlet leapt backwards, stumbling it Caleb in the process. She was grateful for the intervention by Julius, as it gave her a chance to right herself before shooting a body-bind curse at Annie.

Caleb stumbled forward and into the barrier again. It began to crack. The spell wasn't strong enough tto be kept up against the full weight of a person. A couple more hits and it would be down.
He reached behind him and pulled Scarlet sideways, putting her armbanded arm out of reach of Annie. It would look odd if he didn't help.

Annie jumped backwards, avoiding the body bind, and extenquished her sleeve, which had caught in Julius's spell. With a complicated gesture she send a silencing spell at Julius.

She was too surprised by Caleb's help to thank him. She opened her mouth to, but was distracted by dodging a spell sent her way by Christopher.
Something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. A web of cracks blooming in some kind of domed shield. It must've been broken when Caleb fell into it.
With all her might, Scarlet threw her body into the shielded wall.

Sometimes the old classics could be useful - particularly when things were busy and tense and every moment counted
Hugo leaped forward toward the enemy combatants, landed in a crouch and -
"Tarantallegra!"
- cast his hex in a sweeping arc ahead of him at about knee height.. most opponents were lousy at blocking spells that came in from odd angles.

Sophie didn't expect it and didn't block. She dropped to the ground, unable to keep her feet from doing the charleston.

Christopher was sweating with the exertion of casting spells and trying to keep the barrier up. With more cracks appearing in the shield, he knew it wasn't going to last much longer.
"Stupefy." He cast at Hugo after his successful hit on Sophie, but he knew his own spell was nowhere near full power.

It was enough to hit Hugo and knock him flat, his own defence just a second too slow, but it did not stun him completely. Hugo rolled to one side, not rising where he fell (if Hugo was the attacker he'd already be launching follow up hexes at that position to catch someone rising) and firing off Pugnus spells toward Christopher.

Annie dropped the wall, hoping the momentum would bring Scarlet to the ground.
